How to make an outbound transfer (step-by-step)

Short answer

You can make an outbound transfer on Oneremit by funding your NGN wallet, adding a beneficiary, reviewing the FX rate, and confirming the transfer.

Before you start

Ensure that:

  • Your business account is verified
  • Your NGN wallet is funded
  • Required business documents (if any) have been submitted

Step 1: Log in to your dashboard

Sign in to your Oneremit dashboard and navigate to Transfers.

Step 2: Add or select a beneficiary

  • Choose an existing beneficiary, or
  • Add a new beneficiary by entering their bank and account details

Ensure all beneficiary details are accurate before proceeding.

Step 3: Enter transfer details

  • Select the destination corridor
  • Enter the amount you want to send
  • Review the quoted FX rate and final payout amount

Step 4: Review and confirm

Before confirming:

  • Check the beneficiary name and bank details
  • Confirm the FX rate and payout amount
  • Ensure the transfer purpose aligns with your business activity

Step 5: Authorize the transfer

Confirm the transfer using your transaction authorization method.

Once confirmed, the transfer status will appear as Processing.

What happens after you send

  • Your transfer undergoes internal checks
  • Once released, the status changes to Sent
  • Settlement is completed based on the destination corridor and receiving bank

Important

Once a transfer is confirmed, it cannot be edited. Incorrect beneficiary details may result in delays or failed payouts.

When to contact support

Contact support only if:

  • You are unable to add a beneficiary
  • The transfer remains in Processing longer than expected
  • The transfer status shows Failed or Reversed

Have this ready:

  • Transfer reference ID
  • Destination corridor
  • Beneficiary name and bank
